Dear Biloxi Upper Family, 

We are thrilled to start the 2023-2024 school year at Biloxi Upper Elementary School! Our school's creed is ACHIEVE. LEAD. EXCEL., and our school theme this year is "Adventures in Learning Await!"  Both our creed and our theme are a call to action, embodying who we are here at the Upper--passionate and driven educators who revel in the adventure that is high-level learning!

At Biloxi Upper, we are constantly striving to improve on what we do so we can increase outcomes for our students. Our teachers spend the summer collaborating on instructional best practices, as well as understanding the depth and complexity of our College and Career Readiness Standards.

In addition to providing strong academic instruction, Biloxi Upper Elementary offers numerous opportunities for students to broaden their educational experience.  Currently, we offer beginner band classes for our 6th grade students, as well as classes where students begin to learn how to play stringed instruments such as violin and cello.  Introduction to Music, Show Choir, and Drama Club will be new to Biloxi Upper this school year, and we are so excited to get these programs off the ground.  

We are fortunate that, in Biloxi Public Schools, our students have regular access to technology.  Each student is provided a school-issued laptop on which they can access Google Classroom, Google Docs, and a host of other technology programs to aid them in their education. Each classroom is also equipped with interactive Promethean Boards to create a more technology-integrated learning environment for our students. 

Lastly, I want to share the mission and vision for our school, so we can all work together—community, parents, and teachers alike—to positively impact our students. It is the mission and vision of Biloxi Upper Elementary School, in support of the BPSD vision of “Excellence From All, For All”, to provide a safe, inclusive learning environment where rigorous academic opportunities are fostered in order to grow students to high levels of academic achievement, to inspire students to become leaders inside and outside of the classroom and to push students to achieve personal and academic excellence. 

In a nutshell, at Biloxi Upper Elementary School, we will ACHIEVE. LEAD. EXCEL.
